Train journey to Bridlington

                           16th August 2017

Today's outing a trip to the East Coast resort of Bridlington, various options of how to get there.
Eventually the decision was to go by train via the port of Hull. Supposedly a more scenic route.
Anyway our journey as usual begins with meeting at Leeds Railway Station, we all arrive by different  means, some by bus , some on a bike others by train. Purchasing the tickets is not an easy task as numerous permutations are available. Leeds to Selby , Selby to Bridlington via Hull came out number one, for some strange reason. Anyway we arrived at the resort shortly after 11:30 , Kevin had joined the train at Beverley his home town now, so our group was 8 in number.
Malcolm, John, Eddie, Colin, Derek, Keith, Dave and Kevin.
It was Keith's task to guide us on our walk today, the weather was perfect, beautiful blue sky and pleasant sunshine, so with a skip in our steps off we headed for the seafront and our journey towards Sewerby just a few miles further along the coast.
It was catch up time for Kevin and some of the lads, as they hadn't seen each other for years since leaving work.

Our walk along the seafront was great, lots of visitors enjoying their time here ,sat on the beach playing in the sea or just soaking up the sunshine.
It wasn't too long before we reached Sewerby and decision time, either to extend our walk and venture to Danes Dyke , or head for lunch at a recommended fish and chip shop. After a rather long discussion and directions in our head it was off for lunch.
This proved some what of a difficult task, should have listened more carefully to the directions.
Some 40 minutes later we found the place in question and eventually enjoyed their delights.

The establishment was named 149 chippy.

Lunch over, we now headed for the promenade and a steady stroll along  the seafront ,taking in all the sights and sounds of the many hundreds of holidaymakers. Our next intended venue was a ice cream parlour named Tophams. We soon came across this place and found ourselves inside  ordering specials from the board! Eventually we all managed to get seated together and enjoy these offerings, yummy yummy!

Now onto the harbour and soak up the atmosphere as we sat for awhile discussing what our next adventure would be. Llandudno,Scarborough or Grassington! some heated discussion took place, but all was resolved as we headed back to the Station in order to start our journey back home.
What a most interesting and wonderful day out.
Cheers Lads.
