Colin’s Birthday Bash

Image
17th August 2019.               Colin’s Birthday Bash. Well what a great treat was in store for the lads today, along with a few more family and friends of Colin ,we  were invited to a restaurant in the city of Leeds to help celebrate his 70th. Birthday. The venue was the French Restaurant Sous le Nez in the basement of Quebec House, not too far from the Railway Station so quite handy for getting there. We were asked to meet up at 5:30 that afternoon preparing to eat at about 6:00pm. This is indeed what took place. We all began to muster in the bar area and treated ourselves to a pre meal drink whilst saying hello to the other guests as they arrived. Suddenly this basement came alive with the noise of conversation and laughter. Forty minutes on and it was now time to move into the restaurant area and be shown to a private room that had been selected by Colin and Lynn, once everyone was seated our meal orders were taken along with any other drink requests

They would pass through the village of Howarth then onto Oxenhope once here they would leave the bus just outside the Bay Horse Pub , then with  printed off instructions to hand the walking part of this particular adventure would unfold, what a delightful experience this turned out to be. This particular adventure was Dave’s idea and John was only too willing to follow, a rather difficult section of walking was encountered over the first mile or so , it involved a uphill struggle until they reached a more level section that would take them over a long stretch of moorland heading for a distance vista, almost an
