Colin’s Birthday Bash
17th August 2019. Colin’s Birthday Bash.
Well what a great treat was in store for the lads today, along with a few more family and friends of Colin ,we were invited to a restaurant in the city of Leeds to help celebrate his 70th. Birthday.
The venue was the French Restaurant Sous le Nez in the basement of Quebec House, not too far from the Railway Station so quite handy for getting there.
We were asked to meet up at 5:30 that afternoon preparing to eat at about 6:00pm.
This is indeed what took place. We all began to muster in the bar area and treated ourselves to a pre meal drink whilst saying hello to the other guests as they arrived. Suddenly this basement came alive
with the noise of conversation and laughter.
Forty minutes on and it was now time to move into the restaurant area and be shown to a private room that had been selected by Colin and Lynn, once everyone was seated our meal orders were taken along with any other drink requests. Soon this room
became yet another noisy place only being silenced with the arrival of our meals and what a delight our meals turned out to be, everyone enjoying what they had ordered .Lots of different conversations
stuck up as the evening progressed with time to get to know a few of the other guests and their relationship with Colin . Eventually John got to his feet and said a few words on behalf of the Lads
Which was followed with the singing of the birthday song and then a special rendition of Sto Lat
a traditional Polish folk song wishing the recipient good health and a long life which was sung by Dave, Colin of course replying with words of sentiment and thanking us all for sharing this experience with him.
A very very good evening was had by all.
Cheers Colin
