                       Walk to a Waterfall  Yet again we started our outing by meeting up at Leeds railway station, in time to catch the twelve minutes past nine train heading east to Scarborough. The journey takes about 75 minutes. On arrival at the station we now cross the road , in order to take the Whitby bound bus to the village of  Cloughton. From here we take the lane that leads you to the coastal path, this time we are heading north. A bit of a downhill uphill start to this pathway but eventually it evens out and then lends itself to great views of the surrounding countryside. Although a fine sunny day was forecast this part of the journey was rather cool with the odd prospect of a lite shower, some 30 minutes on and the sun appeared, this brightened our spirit as we trekked towards Hayburn Wyke.   Milner Field and Titus Salt April 17, 2014  By  Bingley Hub Milner Field – Walking in the Footsteps of Titus Junior? In this article our local historian Alan Cattell seeks to add to knowledge of what Milner Field and its grounds may originally have looked like when built 141 years ago. To do so his research has included articles written in the 1870’s, discussion with Roger Clarke the Saltaire historian and identification of maps, architects drawings and etchings from the time. Thanks also go to Bradford Libraries and Shipley College, Saltaire Archives for their time and help. What might Titus have considered? At a time when photography was in its infancy Titus Salt Junior would have had to rely on the vision of his architects and other contractors and their ability to convey design and building considerations to him. The Marsden Gathering

5th December 2019.            Christmas Dinner Outing  Today would see a group of seven lads meet up in the village of Marsden , which is situated on the far reaches of their home county of West Yorkshire. Their means of getting to this intended location will take on somewhat of a twist. At the time of choosing this venue at the Brewery Tap Riverside Pub in Marsden , all seemed pretty clear , a canal side walk from the village of Slaithwaite on to Marsden was considered then our Christmas Dinner at the pub. But recent weather conditions and alternative arrangements have interfered with these plans. John  had to travel up from Brackley , quite a logistic operation, Colin Malcolm and Dave have decided to do the walk after all , and will be taking an earlier train, the rest of the lads which will include Derek  ,Keith and John Howarth should arrive in Marsden from the 12:38 train.
