Visit to see Tim Kearney (Snr)
 
There would be eleven of us today rendezvousing at Roundhay Mansion to see Tim.

Today’s group would consist of Brian, Donald, Ashton, Mark, Keith, John Howarth, Glenn, John Hey, Derek, Russell Tim and Colin. Dave was unable to attend today and was badly missed as he always is when he can’t make it. 

The weather was slight drizzle in the air as we set off from the bus stop opposite Corn Exchange catching the No. 12 and extremely cold. However, Tim was already there when we arrived and was happy to see us all. Many of us ordered a snack and drink to make it a pleasurable meetup. 

Various discussions were taking place and Tim was proud to be showing us his grandchild who had graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Physics and Nuclear Technology, well done. 

The group discussed our next adventure at Bingley and it was decided that dependent on the weather we would walk from Saltaire to Bingley, about an hour or for those not wanting to walk they would catch a later train and go directly to The LOFT café! The train times would be either 10:26 for the walkers or 11:56 for those going directly to the café. Tickets would be return to Bingley alighting at Saltaire for the walk.

The LOFT Café in Bingley is booked for 12:30. 

Many discussions were going on simultaneously with catchups and reminiscing about times gone by. After a couple of hours we decided to catch the FirstBus back into Leeds rather than the X98  and left about 13:30 to make our way back into Leeds Corn Exchange where we then caught our respect ice trains and/or buses for the final leg. 

A lovely day out particularly seeing so many ignoring the inclement weather to make the journey to see our friend Tim.

Scarborough- Cloughton- Hayburn Wyke

                       Walk to a Waterfall  Yet again we started our outing by meeting up at Leeds railway station, in time to catch the twelve minutes past nine train heading east to Scarborough. The journey takes about 75 minutes. On arrival at the station we now cross the road , in order to take the Whitby bound bus to the village of  Cloughton. From here we take the lane that leads you to the coastal path, this time we are heading north. A bit of a downhill uphill start to this pathway but eventually it evens out and then lends itself to great views of the surrounding countryside. Although a fine sunny day was forecast this part of the journey was rather cool with the odd prospect of a lite shower, some 30 minutes on and the sun appeared, this brightened our spirit as we trekked towards Hayburn Wyke. Hull Museum Trip

                                       14th. March 2019        Hull Museum Trip For their adventure today, the lads have decided to give the East Yorkshire City of Hull a visit. As per usual the lads will take the train, a journey of about an hour in order to reach this destination  Some of the lads boarded the train at Dewsbury the others joining at Leeds, the group will consist of Derek Dave Colin Keith and John they have arranged to meet up with Kevin at the railway station at Hull about 10:45 if all goes to plan, this is indeed what happened. A brief exchange of greetings and a photo opportunity then the lads slowly made their way to the station exit and a chance to see the streets of this coastal city.
