A Day Out with Doris
23 February 2017 Lads Day out at Scarborough The weather forecasters told us to stay at home , why!, because Storm Doris was on her way. But with rail tickets purchased some days before , nothing was going to stop the Lads visiting Scarborough again. So we climbed aboard the 9:03 in Leeds and headed East not knowing what to expect. Our arrival at Scarborough some 90 minutes later was greeted with joy , a little blue sky could be seen , (enough to make a little Boys trousers, according to the old saying ) now our tour of the resort began. A walk along Valley Bridge Road towards the Spa Cliff Gardens taking in the marvellous views from this vantage point, from here we took the old spa cliff lift down to the shore line and our walk along the beach heading for the start of marine drive. After some 10 minutes on the beach a rain shower came along so we made a swift exit and headed for some brief shelter on the promenade. Showers over and our trekking continues
