Scarborough with a Twist.

20th March 2018. The lads outing today was to take on a unforeseen change of plans! Our journey started off in the customary way! We all meet up at Leeds Railway Station in order to catch the relevant train that would carry us to our required destination. Today our intended journey should have taken us to the East Coast resort of Scarborough aboard the 9:12 train, from here we would catch the Whitby bus , then walk along the beach to Sandsend and back. Little did we know this  was all about to change. The train journey was fine with Colin, Malcolm, John, Derek and Dave about to experience a sudden change to their arrangements. Arrived at Scarborough about 10:40 just in time to catch the X 93 Whitby bus , all safely aboard and off we  go, less than a few hundred yards into our journey we suddenly here this all mighty crashing sound, had something hit the bus or had we collided with an obstacle of some sort! Minutes later we were to find

Ribblehead and Settle.

Ribblehead Walk.            13 March 2018   The Lads adventure today would take them northwest, aboard the train heading for Carlisle. Only this time they would leave the train at Ribblehead , in order to explore the magnificent Viaduct  that was constructed in this seemingly wild moorland. Their journey would begin yet again at Leeds Railway Station, the train to Carlisle was due to leave at 8:49 aboard were  Colin, Keith, Malcolm and Dave , the fifth member John would be joining them at Bingley. The arrival time at Ribblehead was expected to be a few minutes after 10 am. So it was time to relax and enjoy the views of the Yorkshire countryside, although most of the time we saw nothing but flooded fields and farm land with the many snow capped hills far off in the distance. Upon reaching Ribblehead we were greeted with somewhat of a rather cold and misty outlook, nevertheless we began our adventure. As we left the station
GREENWICH VILLAGE (LONDON)  THURSDAY 1 MARCH 2018 It was a bitterly cold morning when Eddie and m yself  met up in Leeds City Station for the 08:17  train  from Leeds to London via Wakefield Westgate where we were to meet up with the final adventurer Derek. The weather had decimated our travel plans with John and Keith unable to get into Leeds and Dave struck down by a back injury. The train Journey was to last a little bit longer than the schedule d  10:35   our  arrival going out to 11:10 but  the journey was pleasant and comfortable with lovely snow scenery on either side. A  quick visit to the rest room we were on our way.  First,  we took the Northern Line (South) to  Bank   where  we changed  onto  the DLR (Dockland Light Railway)  and  headed towards Lewisham for our final destination at Island Gardens. Unfortunately, the train only went as far as Mudchute  so  we had to change  for Island Gardens. We  only  had to crossover to platform one for the remainder of our jour
