Newark-on-Trent
21st. August 2018. Newark-on-Trent Today our journey will take us south to the market town of Newark which stands by the river Trent. Our means of getting there will be by train via Doncaster. We will eventually be a group of six, which will include John, Derek, Keith, Colin and Dave , we are to meet up with Jeff when we reach Newark. Our train drops us off a few minutes after eleven o’clock and there is Jeff to greet us. From the station we take a steady walk towards the town centre, we are on the lookout for the newly located Civil War Museum. . Not before too long we come across this building and decide to explore the artefacts that are on display here. What a treasuretrove of historical facts about this event in English history well worth the visit. From here it was a rather hurried exit and down to the riverside in order to board the MV.
