Roundhay Park Experience

23rd. May 2019.            The Roundhay Park Experience  Well for today’s adventure, it was a nostalgic trip , back to a part of the city of Leeds for most of the lads. A journey that would bring back happy memories of their misspend youth so to speak. The bike rides there , the football played and the pop concerts etc along with the many hours spent fooling around in the swimming baths or boating on the lakes, not to mention other pass times. It was eventually a group of six that would enjoy this experience, those being Colin, John, Eddie Alan, Derek and Dave, the other members having prior arrangements etc. , Our intended plan was to meet up at a suggested park location at about 11:30, some of the lads taking the X99 bus from the city centre the rest making other arrangements. Anyhow we all met up on the perimeter pathway around the large lake which used to overlook the swimming baths. From here we headed along the far side of

16th May 2019.       Wetherby and the Lost Walk As the title suggests the Lads will venture to the market town of Wetherby which is about an hours bus ride north of Leeds. Their mission today is to find the Lost Walk , in fact the walk was never lost it was the Lads that got lost, for some reason or another. The group for this particular adventure will include Dave Colin Malcolm John and Eddie, the rest of the gang have prior commitments etc. Eddie has taken the decision to meet the rest of us at Wetherby, we will take the X99 bus from Leeds . Rendezvous time about 11:35 at the bus terminal in the town. A nice sunny day is in prospect, so some of the lads have come suitably attired, who wears short shorts!.  From the bus terminus we now crossed the main road and headed down towards the river and the beginning of our search for the Lost Walk. Not before too long the lads c

7th May 2019.       Cleethorpes and the Cycling Experience. For their adventure today the Lads are heading off to Lincolnshire and the coastal town of Cleethorpes. The journey there will take them some 2 hours or so, an intended  group of six will make the trip today and will consist of Eddie Keith John Colin Derek and Dave. Their proposed  route is by train from Leeds to Doncaster then from there on to Cleethorpes, they should arrive at the coast just a few minutes before 11:00 all going to plan, but things don’t always work out that way. Unfortunately Derek didn’t make the Leeds train heading for Doncaster due to traffic problems etc, so he arrived at Cleethorpes an hour later than the rest of the lads. Not a major problem, it gave us time to locate the cycle hire shop and get a feel for this place, first impressions looks rather run down and neglected although some restoration work is going on. Eventually Derek arrived, so off to the bike hire shop to collec
