City of Chester

25th June 2019.              Visit to the city of Chester

For their adventure today the lads have decided to travel to the county of Cheshire and visit the historic city of Chester. Although the journey may be somewhat lengthy it proved to be worth while.
Yet again the adventure started off at Leeds railway station for some of the lads others joining at different locations along the way.The group will consist of Colin Keith Malcolm then John Derek and Dave, all hoping to reach the city just after midday, which is indeed what happened.

The weather forecast for today’s adventure looked rather bleak with heavy rains due for most of the day, someone must have said their prayers last night, for on arrival at Chester the rain had already been and gone.
Although dull at first it  became more brighter as the day progressed.
After a train journey of almost two and a half hours the lads were ready for lunch and this was enjoyed in the form of an all day breakfast, courtesy of the Cafe by the Wall. A small establishment but well worth a visit ,most enjoyable.

From here it was just a short distance to the river and then up on to the city walls and heading in the direction of the wonderful Cathedral here in Chester, the lads spent almost an hour and a half looking around this ancient building taking in all of its glory and magnificence.

Time now to explore a little further as we walked the streets in search of our afternoon delight, the taste of Italian Ice Cream , this we eventually found after several disappointing results.

It was at The IceStone Cafe back in the heart of the city, delights enjoyed it was now time for a steady walk back through the streets heading for the railway station in Order to catch the 17:16 train back to Leeds.
What another great experience here in Chester
Cheers Lads
