Blackpool Outing
13th. July 2017. Lads outing to Blackpool
Today we have decided to head west, as the weather forecast for this coastline is the more favourable.
We are heading for the seaside town of Blackpool and saviour its delights.
Our first aim is getting there, a few options are available we have to decide which suits us best.
Colin, Keith and Malcolm are boarding the train at Leeds , John is getting on at Bradford whilst Derek and Dave have made their way to Hebden Bridge and are catching the same train there.
We all finally met up at 10:52 on board the coast bound train, which eventually arrived in Blackpool about twenty minutes after midday. Some ten minutes later we found ourselves walking along the seafront promenade, this area has undergone some massive improvements and was a pleasant surprise.
We soon found some great photo opportunities to take advantage of , so here are a few to share.
After about Ninety minutes or so and feeling a little hungry we went in search of food, this came in the shape of fish and chips , enjoyed by the courtesy of Bentley Cafe.
This lunch time break was eaten sat outside on benches soaking up the wonderful sunshine that had blessed us so far. From here we headed for the bus stop a short distance away and caught the
number 11 which would eventually take us to Lytham. What a journey it seemed never ending.
Some time later we found ourselves eating ice cream sat in the town square along with many other visitors, so delightful here.
Ice creams devoured, we now headed for the waterfront and a steady but longish walk back along the pathway by the sea before heading inland to a nearby bus stop and take the number 7 back to Blackpool. By this point the time was nearing 5:pm our train was leaving about an hour later, so it was now a search for a lite bite to eat and maybe a drink, this became somewhat of a disappointment as we found no suitable establishment to satisfy our needs, the only place left was the railway station and what was on offer there, not a big selection to be had.
Anyway this didn't spoil what a great day we have all had here in Blackpool.
Cheers Lads.
