Today’s blog is a brief summary of what the lads have experienced during this year of 2018
Back to January now and the first outing of the year took place with a visit to Beverley which was thoroughly enjoyed
This was then followed by a journey to the seaside resort of Scarborough a frequent destination for the lads. Now into February and the lads get a walk in the snow as they tread their way from Woodlesford to Crossgates
, next its a long train journey upto Heysham Port and a walk along the coast to Morecambe , the return journey was rather cold!.
The month of March is next and this sees the lads head for Ribblehead and get lost in the mist, then it’s a trip to Scarborough but we finished up on the beach at Bridlington.
Late spring now and the lads venture to Liverpool and catch a glimpse of the terracotta warriors before climbing to take a rooftop view of the city from the towering heights of the cathedral.
Their next outing was a canal side walk which took them from Mirfield to the town of Huddersfield a rather wet outcome on this adventure. Next it was back to the west coast and a walk along the seafront from Blackpool to nearby Cleveleys a misty start to this adventure.
Now it was June and time to visit our capital city London, this was a great day out which included a visit to Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral and of course a local McDonalds!
Now into summer and walks seem to be the order of the day, but first a challenge for the lads , Whernside has to be conquered and was duely Achieved, nice work lads. Less strenuous were the walks at Hayburn Wyke and Wetherby followed by a relaxing ride on the Royal Scot at Howarth.
August now and this sees the lads venture off to the coastal resort of Southport, here they take on a bike ride followed by a exciting jet boat trip whilst being entertained by Elvis! Memorable day this
was
. Next up was a trip to Newark on Trent to visit the Civil War Museum followed by a riverboat ride on the Trent, great meeting Jeff on this days outing. The month of September takes the lads to Grandpa Greens a location by the canal just over the boarder in Lancashire, next up was a trip back to Scarborough ,then onto Whitby and a brisk walk along the beach to Sandsend and back, Alan enjoyed this day out.

October sees the lads returning to Wetherby only to somehow get lost on their mission there. Then back to Scarborough for a walk along the clifftops at Cloughton .
November now and the lads decide to stretch their legs with a canal side walk which takes them from Dewsbury back towards Wakefield ,their next outing was a visit to the city of Sheffield and an eagerly awaited return to the industrial museum at Kelham Island
, this visit gave the lads inspirational ideas of a nostalgic trip to the Thackray Museum in Leeds
which they did combined with a luncheon appointment in the city at a venue named The Red Hot.
This took place in December which also included a short canal side walk and a fish and chips lunch
at the infamous Grandma Pollards Cafe in the village of Walsden.
