Harewood and the Pork Pie Picnic
30th. April. 2019 A Pork Pie Picnic
For their adventure today the lads are heading for the grounds of Harewood House, a country estate
situated north of Leeds. They intend to participate in a walk of a distance between 4 and 5 miles.
The group for this trip will include John Eddie Alan Colin and Dave the rest of the lads have other commitments etc. The journey begins with three of the lads meeting up at Leeds Bus Station at about 10:15 in order to catch the No.36 luxury service bus that will transport them to Harewood, once there they will rendezvous with the other two lads and then begin this adventure.
A rather misty start greeting the lads has they set foot inside the grounds, but not before too long the mist lifts and reveals what turns out to be a glorious day, packed with lots of interesting sites , sounds and other ramblers enjoying being outdoors, such a pleasure to meet and chat with them and accept their help with some of the photos etc.
It was so exciting to see the many Red Kite birds soaring in the skies above us and
the few herds of deer that roam these wonderful grounds, along with the woodlands that were blessed with thousands of bluebells standing tall in all their glory, such a delightful experience .
Our walk was interrupted on several occasions in order to catch our breath and enjoy this wonderful setting, on one occasion we rested by a stream and sat on a nearby wall to enjoy a pork pie picnic
courtesy of Eddie , we found these to be very tasteful indeed. Cheers Eddie great idea.
Our adventure finally came to an end after some 3 hours of walking with certain members of the group feeling a little leg weary by this time, so a swift exit to a nearby bus stop was the order of the day but not before saying farewell to the rest of the lads who continued with this walk back to their intended departure place.
Such a delightful experience with a great bunch of Lads
Cheers

Great day out and it was me that was weary and I was glad to get on the bus to rest my legs. Lovely company and lots of wonderful scenery. Glad I did it!
