Settle and Giggleswick Trip

23rd. January 2020.             Settle and Giggleswick Trip

For their second adventure of this new year, the lads have chosen to take a train journey to the far reaches of North Yorkshire, to the town of Settle and combine it with a visit to nearby Giggleswick .
Again the lads will meet at Leeds Railway Station in order to catch the 10:49 train heading for Carlisle. They will be a group of five, which will include John Malcolm Colin Derek and Dave.
It was  rather a dull grey and misty day that greeted the lads has they stepped from the train just about an hour later.

The weather conditions back in Leeds had been much better for this time of year.
Anyway this this did not dampen their spirits has they walked along the streets of Settle heading towards the river Ribble and the footpath that would eventually take them on to the village of Giggleswick.

Just nice to be out in the fresh air the lads thought, even though there was a hint of coldness in these surroundings.

Their walk lasting  just under two hours which finally found them enjoying a well deserved lunch sat in the Talbot Arms, a greatly recommended pub here in the heart of Settle. It was a long lunchtime break giving the lads plenty of time to discuss their future plans and reflect about bygone adventures. With over 50 minutes left of their adventure here in North Yorkshire it was now time for their customary ice cream which was purchased from a nearby parlour and enjoyed as the lads walked steadily back towards the railway station here in Settle, just in time to board the 16:28 train back to Leeds.
Again another great day out with the lads.
Cheers everyone.
