Clock Tower Cafe Experience
21st. July 2021. Scarborough Revisited
Today’s adventure would see a bunch of Lads meet up at the East Coast resort of Scarborough, not a great gathering though, just Colin, John, Dave , Brian and Alan. Three of the Lads are arriving by train from Leeds, the other two are already in Scarborough. Rendezvous time at the railway station in Scarborough is approximately 10:50 , from here the group will be heading for the Clock Tower Cafe which is situated in a cliff side setting near the South Bay here at the resort, so not too far of a walk to start of things today.
The morning weather here is a comfortable 21degrees at the present time, sat here at the cafe enjoying the lovely views out over the bay, much better than previous earlier mornings where it as been around the 25 - 27 region . Tea and cake were the order of the day here and very much appreciated along with the company, giving the lads time to reflect upon past adventures that they have undertaken over the last few years.
Almost an hour had passed before the lads now left the cafe and began their journey towards the North Bay taking in the site of holiday makers enjoying the delights of what this resort as to offer. It was a steady walk along the seafront and then onto Marine Drive, by this time the sun had broken through and the temperature was climbing and feeling somewhat humid, a few rest stops were called for has we drifted steadily along trying to spot the dolphins reported to be seen close to the shore over these last few days.
We did manage to catch a few glimpses of them now and again at one point along this journey, plenty of others trying to do the same thing. After a while we did eventually reach our goal, the bus stop at North Bay, here a decision was made that Colin and Dave would take the open top bus back whilst the others would take the hill top footpath route, all meeting up outside the harbour bar, Colin and Dave’s bus ride was a long time in coming, due to the amount of people that required this service by which time the other lads were back at the harbour bar long before ,they eventually arrived.
Now a decision of what to have for a late lunch, fish and chips or just a sandwich, the latter was agreed upon, so off to Greggs they went via the Victorian Tram ride up to the cliff top and on into the town centre .Late lunches purchased and a suitable bench found time to reflect upon the day before saying good bye to Alan , who had now met up with his wife as pre arranged, Brian said his farewell at the railway station just before the other lads boarded the train that would take them back to York and then onto Leeds before they took their final journeys home.
A really great time was enjoyed here in Scarborough.
Cheers Lads.
again photos in wrong order , sorry.
