Liverpool Trip
14th . November 2017
Guess what! Today we are returning to the city of Liverpool, to enjoy some more of its cultural diversity. Again it starts with a train journey from Leeds heading west via Huddersfield and Manchester and then onto Lime Street Station. We are a group of seven for today’s adventure, those involved are Keith, John, Colin, Malcolm, Eddie along with Derek and Dave, we arrived in Liverpool a few minutes after 10 o’clock. Once we had got our bearings, it was a steady walk in the direction of the Anglican Cathedral which sits commanding a prominent position in the magnificent city. We walk on ,passing the China Town region and then up towards this wonderful building

while taking in its magnificence. Later we all gathered to experience a trip to the top of the tower, this
involves a ride in 2 lifts and then climb 108 steps to take advantage of the panoramic views from this vantage point. Up here we are treated to very informative 360 degree commentary by a veteran of this city, Frank Thomson ,what a pleasure to have met him, cheers Frank.
After our decent of the tower we now headed for the waterfront and time for lunch, which was half heartedly enjoyed, it was a fish and chips meal at some restaurant in the Albert Dock region. We were not over enthusiastic about this place even though it came highly recommended by TripAdvisor.
It was now decision time and which attraction to visit next, after some brief discussions it was decided that John and Eddie would visit the Maritime Museum, Colin went off to encounter the Beatles Story, leaving the rest of us to wonder around the Liverpool Museum, a meeting up time of 4:30 was agreed at the entrance to Albert Dock. I think we all enjoyed our different experiences as we reflected upon them whilst consuming a brain freeze at McDonalds back in the city centre.
From here it was a steady walk back to Lime Street Station in order to catch our train back home.
We eventually left the city of Liverpool at 18:12 this time heading East .
Derek and Dave getting off the train at Huddersfield in order to make their connection to Dewsbury, the rest journeyed on to Leeds and then their own individual ways home.
Yet another great day out with the Lads.
